DL1000 Ignition Switch
« on: January 30, 2013, 16:08:48 »
My much abused 2008 Vee's ignition switch has started to play up. Tried WD 40 ing it but I am now stuck with using the spare key. From my past experience it feels like its worn out so what I want to know is has anyone replaced one not using the OEM part?

Could be the key or the wafers in the cylinder worn. Is it OK with the spare key ? If it is just get another key cut from the spare .

thanks, it looks like the barrel has gone. Hopefully will get it off the bike if the weather and wife let me and have a go at rebuilding it. I have done it with several car door locks so I roughly know what I am doing!
