Servicing in the Kent/West Sussex areas
« on: January 02, 2013, 14:21:13 »
Hi,

Does anyone have any recommendations for reputable garages in the Kent/West Sussex? To date I've used P&H in Crawley for the 14.5k service and one MOT, and whilst I know they are considered expensive they are also very convenient for where I live & work. Their customer service is excellent, and I don't doubt the standard of the work, but after the cost of the last two visits, plus their quote for the upcoming 18k service and some work to rectify a couple of MOT advisories, I'm left wincing a little and feel the need to shop around a bit.

Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Cheers :thumb:

It might be a bit far away for you, but Alford Bros in Folkestone have a justifiably good reputation. Not sure how cheap they are as have nothing to compare though. I've always found them very helpful and knowledgeable.

Funny I purchased a "pre reg" bike from P&H Crawley, it took them 2 weeks to "prepare" for me, when I did get it the headlight aim was should we say a little bit high ! I booked it in for its 1st service on a Saturday 9am waiting, when I got down there they couldn't do it to till the afternoon  :eusa-naughty:  took it back & they changed the oil & left it ticking over for 20 minutes in their workshop unattended    & still didn't adjust the headlamp ! the bike was a Honda vtr1000.
Had my wee mot ed at Slipstream in Sevenoaks they seemed on the ball

I can vouch for these lot, bought my L2 Wee from them beginning of November, had its first service there a couple of weeks later. Friendly staff, happy to help. Plus, they've got a nice shop upstairs, to have a browse while you wait.

On experience...P & H last resort and not just 'cos of the big wollop in the wallet area! They're not shy that's for sure!

Alfs in Worthing.  :handgestures-thumbup: Not open Monday's though and a fair slap from your town.

If you're still stuck, I use a bloke in Brighton to service my Wee.

Let me know if you need his contact details , my last full service was under £200.
