New V-Strom 650 owner!
« on: September 05, 2012, 15:57:22 »
Hi all,

Placed my order a couple of days ago for a new 'Wee2' or 'Glee' or whatever the kids are calling it  :)  I'm a new rider, having passed my DAS course about 4 months ago... been riding a Yamaha XJ6 Diversion so far, but want to go longer distances and the XJ6 just isn't comfortable enough for any serious touring.

Adored the V-Strom on my test ride though... just feels so much more substantial and 'grown up'.

Now in the horrible waiting for it to arrive phase... the dealer says it could be 2 or 3 weeks  :violin:

Hi Matt.
I'm in possibly a worse condition. Dealer told me bike could take 3 weeks so arranged insurance to start from the end of the month and sale of my bike till the end and the bike came in after a few days.been to the dealer to dribble on it but its Got to stay there till the end of sep till my bike is sold and the swap can be made.its going to be a long month :GRR:

Whoa... OK, I feel your pain! :-/

Yeah, the insurance thing is annoying... I fully expect my dealer to give me no warning whatsoever and suddenly phone up to say the bike is ready to collect. But by the time all the insurance documents get sent through so it can be taxed, it will be days later I'm sure.

Oh well, look at it like this... the patience we're learning now will stand us in good stead when having to resist going above the RPM limit during the run-in period! :)

Life isn't about waiting for the strom to pass.... it's about learning to dance in the rain
