edit : sorted now. throttle cable too tight for risers
« on: July 06, 2012, 16:03:47 »
hi all

some advice sought, as I'm a mechanical noob.  any chaps or ladies have risers on their wee. were your throttle cables OK after the install? I've looked at mine before installing the risers and its really tight as it is. when the 2" risers go on I doubt il be able to get full right lock. I've read posts about throttle cable adjustment, an seen pics of cables with adjusters in line, But mine doesn't, just a solid attachment to the housing.  must admit I have no idea how to reroute either because  when I had the panels off I couldn't really see much choice of a reroute to be honest
I'm sane, honestly. . . I got a certificate to prove it!

Hi,

Just installed 2"Rox risers on 2012 wee. New brake hose 3" longer was the only new item needed.

I took off the controls on both sides & pulled back through the forks, which gave enough play on all cables including the clutch.   Works fine, just need to cable tie all back when done. No need to remove Tank.

Hope this helps.

Those who have had issues just ran the cables behind the triple clamp instead of in front of it.
Pat- 2007 DL650A was ridden to all 48 contiguous states. 2012 DL650A outlasted me.
Nicknames I use to lessen typing, Vee = 2002-2012 (K2-L2) DL1000s. Veek=2014+ (L4+) DL1000s. Wee = 2004-2011 (K4-L1) DL650s. Glee = 2012+ (L2+) DL650s

2" rox risers are now fitted along with a new brake cable. The wire extension kit from eastern beaver was very handy. Clutch cables are re routed , and while a little tighter are not at their limit by no means. All in all very pleased
