K9 99 V Strom 650 Engine at idle ticks over fine 1400 rpm. problem occures when bike is running and I am slowing down I.e. roundabouts traffic lights etc., rpm drops to less than 500 which results with the engine stalling. Any idea's ?

That's often a TPS problem. Make sure it's properly adjusted and it may be necessary to replace it. There is a long thread on the subject at
http://www.vstrom.info/Smf/index.php/topic,6564.0.html
but the conclusion is a TPS problem.

Pat- 2007 DL650A was ridden to all 48 contiguous states. 2012 DL650A outlasted me.
Nicknames I use to lessen typing, Vee = 2002-2012 (K2-L2) DL1000s. Veek=2014+ (L4+) DL1000s. Wee = 2004-2011 (K4-L1) DL650s. Glee = 2012+ (L2+) DL650s
