Is there any real noticable difference in ride quality, fuel consumption with the Wee single spark vs Twinspark.

You mean, using only 1 spark while the motor is designed for twinspark, or what?
Are there single spark WEEs at all? (I thought only the VEE uses single spark...)

Wee up to about 2007 was 1 spark plug per cylinder , it then changed to 2 plugs per cylinder . Probably done to meet emissions requirements , but also slightly better on fuel ..

Yes that's right Locksmith 2007-on are Twinspark (2 plugs per-cylinder )
I am looking at a 2008 Wee Twinspark and wanted to know if there was any really difference.

Was the Twinspark engine in the Wee used in the Gladius or is that different again.

Yes think its different to the gladius engine . The 2007 model also has a cat , the exhaust differs in shape .
Someone like Greywolf or Juv will be along soon and give you the exact info you need . But from what I've read the main difference is the later bikes with the twin plugs give slightly more mpg .

All Stroms have a cat. It just got bigger in 2007 on the Wee. The changes in 2007 are mostly about emissions. It is widely reported the 2007 got slightly better fuel economy from a leaner mixture at the cost of slightly less power. Evidence indicates the fuel economy part is true but the power part has never been proven as far as I've seen. The 2012 model has a little more power than the 2004-2006 models.
Pat- 2007 DL650A was ridden to all 48 contiguous states. 2012 DL650A outlasted me.
Nicknames I use to lessen typing, Vee = 2002-2012 (K2-L2) DL1000s. Veek=2014+ (L4+) DL1000s. Wee = 2004-2011 (K4-L1) DL650s. Glee = 2012+ (L2+) DL650s

I didn't think the UK models upto 2007 had a cat ? Where is its location in the exhaust ?

It's in the pipe at the front of the can. Here is a 2006.

Except when you replace the plugs, then it costs twice as much !
