They're pretty bad - though only on the outside ring.  I'll clean them up in the next month or so then report back, off on holiday next week.

If you think you can sand it down with fine water paper (1500 grain or so) then they might be usable for a while yet. Pics would help to tell if they are salvageable or not worth the effort. For the price of new ones though I'd give it a good go :thumb:

When you clean your calipers do you take the whole caliper off the bike?

ie: Clamp the hose, remove the hose from the caliper?

OK, been busy with the Big Syringe.  Still no luck..... off to the local bike shop tomorrow.

Yep, whole thing off so I can work on the bench (or stainless steel trolley in my case.) I don't bother clamping the hose, I just let the fluid drain off into pan or something then use that for the initial cleaning.

Strommer, you can push feed it too if you like, just remember to suck some out of the reservoir before it overflows each time. I've not done it this way though, sucking works for me.
