Stva flutter valve removal

Hi, continued from introductions as not relevant there.
Am I right I thinking that the above flutter by valves are not related to the choke in any way?
And if I take em out, how do I stop the fault warning coming up?

FI systems don't have chokes. You need to fix the fault. Removing the butterflies won't do that and it's not a good idea on 650s especially. See the following.

yes that would be ideal, the trouble is that fixing the fault is going to cost hundreds of pounds and the skin off my knuckles. Its only just grown back.

does anyone know if the K5 sv 650 throttle body will work? there don't seem to be many dl's breaking. god, its just my luck

I've been researching, SV TBA's  don't fit or nuffin innit. there are sellers in the states with TBA's available, don't really want to wait for delivery though, ill try partfinder. this is going to hurt isn't it...

It'd be worth checking if the TB's are free to be honest. Greywolf's linked to one thread were the front was seized and successfully fixed.

yes I'm going to check they are seized today, I've located replacements for 95 quid, lets hope they turn out to be seized  :limp:

I've sorted the oil leak, it seems that there was no o ring behind the output shaft oil seal!!  
all better now,
after plenty of dicking around with the STVA, it cannot be made to work, so I've purchased some replacements, and the nice man let me listen to the STVA doing its thing down the phone, it sounds much healthier than mine! £105 delivered, shouldn't complain really. it's not over yet, but there is light at the end of the tunnel, thanks for your input everyone

for anyone looking in on this thread, I have today fitted replacment throttle bodies. They look older than the originals, but for £105 came with all the sensors still attached, so all I had to do was check the sync and drop em in. No red lights, all running well again, now I have time to service the original TBs and see if they will make a decent spare set

well here we are... 2 years and 20,000 miles down the line. I just fitted a lovely pair of Heidenau K60, the pair of tourance's I had gave me 20k miles. I still love my DL  

it has been very reliable over all, the STVA just packed up again, this time I was able to service it. The youtube video of the surgery is here



I may even get a new V-Strom sooner or later, it's been cheap to run and maintain and lots of fun, even up to a bit of off roading, nice.

I know its too late for this but for future reference the SV650 TB will fit on the DL I had a k6 that I had a lot of issues with which after the help of someone on here turned out to be a frazzled ECM. While trying to sort it however I purchased a set of SV TB'sfor £50 nd if my memory serves me right I think the only thing you have to do is swap the plate for the throttle cables from the DL TB as the SV plate is different, once that was done they bolted in fine.

No worries and yes to the best of my knowledge until the WEE went to the GLEE I think the SV TB will fit
