Title: 800 heat problem

Just wondering if anyone has come up with a good solution to the heat from the radiator on there 800  yet as Suzuki don't seem to be bothered about doing anything  .

Are you talking about the heat that comes out of the right hand side by your knee?
If so, I've read about it & did feel something, when stationary at lights, on one occasion, but as yet, I can't say it's bothered me in 4000 miles.  :shrug:

For the record, which model 800 do you have?

Does your ride have a sumpguard fitted?

Not sure whether the heat shield, shown in https://www.stromtrooper.com/threads/engine-heat-on-800.444953/, may be an option to help reduce / deflect the heat.

Gert, I think I'd prefer my right leg to be hot than have that fitted on the bike.  :icon_wink:

I noticed it riding the RE for a day in Gran Canaria. My leg was pretty warm  but it wouldn't put me of buying one. I have just sold a GSX8S and there was no issue with heat on that bike.

I notice the heat on my left leg when the fan kicks in on the old Vee, can't say it's particularly bothersome though since your eggs are usually being devilled by the rear cylinder at that point anyway ;) Not KTM 890R bad though, that thing is like an air fryer with no lid.

I did notice some heat from the 800DE when I rode one at ABR but the weather was roasting and I was in jeans. I think any faired bike is going to have a point the heat exits the bodywork and I wouldn't be inclined to modify anything in such a way that the heat is held in.

Yes you have a valid point there , the last thing you need is to bottle all that heat in .
