My younger son has recently passed his car test and bought a car for commuting to work. Until a couple of weeks ago he was using his 2015 650XT, originally bought new by his older brother. The bike is cosmetically scruffy, but mechanically sound, except for one leaking fork seal which I have ready to replace. It had a new set of Michelin Road 6 tyres about 1,500 miles ago, a recent chain and sprockets, and an electronic chain oiler. My dilemma is what to do with it - I think if we sell it we would only get a few hundred pounds, if we can find a buyer. I could break, it sell some parts like fork legs, maybe wheels, and scrap the rest.
It's a shame to get rid of it but he can't afford to insure it for occasional use.
Any thoughts on what I should do with it please?

Remove the daft beak, that should add about £3000 to its value, then flog it?
You don't say how many miles it has, but a bit of TLC to tidy it up (and the aforementioned beak removal) will add to its value and it is a good time to sell with the sunny days breaking through.

miles in the title?
