Interesting looking bike, perhaps a visual clue to what the new 650+ machine will look like :smirk:

An Indian vid about it. The engine looks different to the old one but performance doesn’t seem much different. I have an Inazuma 250 which has the same motor as the old model and it is really impressive as a long distance bike up to 70mph. I doubt we will see it as the old 250 VStrom wasn’t a great seller here.

I rode the first demo DL250 in the dealers I worked at... I was looking for a commuter at the time too.
It wasn't very well finished, not as good as the Inazuma 250 anyway.
The seat was too small and narrow and the screen was simple a token.
Over all I wasn't impressed for the money they were asking for it and the Suzuki luggage option was terrible. (That's coming from someone who had the Soft branded topbox on the classic strom too!)
I bought a £500 trade in XJ600n. Rode it for 4 years and sold it for £750.
I just thought the DL250 is very very niche, and there's now much of a market for it in the UK.
I can see it selling well in India and asia, but in europe you can buy a better spec'd scooter, with better weather protection, more comfort and no gears for the same sort of money.

The 250cc 'proper motorbike' market in the UK died in 1983 and has never really recovered.
Learners could no longer ride bigger than 125cc, full licence holders wanted bigger than 250.

Agreed , that CC range isn't popular at all although, if I had byways on my doorstep id own a CRF300 as a toy .. :icon_drool5:

Yes the lower CC is not really in demand in this country, will do Suzuki very well in India and Asia. I was more interested in the looks, very similar to the 1050 (well the headlight anyway) which means I guess the new 650+ will have similar looks… and a beak for Fatrat :icon_wink:
