Title: Did Zvmx chain riveting

Question about chain riveting. I have a copy of the did tool, however on did website it says that to rivet ZVMX chains it needs to be pin with the groove. My tool have normal pin. What are differences and am I going to be able to rivet my chain by this tool??

I have always done mine with a pair of hammers and removed the old chain with a grinder, simples

I rather to use finesse method as I am doing this first time, and have only one attempt. Purchased the right pin also. Topic can be closed.

Here is what is do:

Bar through back wheel (over swing arm, under chain at forward end)
Slacken off front sprocket
Bolt cutters straight through old chain
Remove rear wheel and change sprocket - (clean caliper while at it)
Refit wheel
Change front sprocket
Join the two ends of the chain with split link.
Use chain press tool to force both chain side plate into correct position
Change the tool's bits to the riveting option and give it a firm press just to slightly widen the rivet head so it doesn't pop back on next step
Then get flat hammer on inner side of chain and gentle tap the outer side with the ball end of a ball Hammer, gently rounding and flattening the rivet head
Bar back through rear wheel (under swing arm, above chain at forward end)
Tighten front sprocket

The tool I use is just one of the £10 jobbies in a red or blue case from ebay

Having just fitted new Chain & Sprockets on my Strom using the red box kit off ebay I found that the slot was too deep in the back part when pressing the side plate on to the point that the pins started to move through the back plate (hope that made sense). A quick skim on the milling machine fixed the problem and I was able to press on the side plate without the pins moving.

I have did tool clone, so it should not be the case.
