Hi all,
Been mooching online and come across some cruise control "clamps" that fit over the throttle and jam against the front brake lever.
I'm not a huge fan of the idea, but I suppose if I'm taking the bike back up the road to God's Country then sitting on the M6/M74 for 100 odd miles in a straight line, it may have a use...
Any reccommendations on a brand, anyone ues/used one of these? Is there a "proper" cruse control option that is available.

I have used one of the simple plastic devices that clips over the grip and rests on the top of the brake lever. It broke after a couple of years, otherwise it would still be on the bike. I got it when I had a right shoulder injury and the simple act of lowering my arm to my side for a second got rid of the ache for a while. Also useful if the velcro cuff on your jacket needs adjustment as you ride. It also gives you more options for gesticulating to car drivers ????

I think an uncomfortable right wrist on a long ride indicates incorrect bar position / shape.

I looked into this a while ago myself. I've heard a lot of people swear by a simple o-ring (a specific Caterpillar size apparently) - works by creating enough friction between the handgrip and bar-end to inhibit rotation, but can still easily be overridden in an emergency. Never tried it myself. Picture explains the principle:

As a 'Traitor' whose current steed has a cruise control, I have to say I absolutely love it- the ability to take my right hand off the bar for occasional stretching/exercise has really transformed long rides for me, to the extent that I really can't imagine buying a bike without cruise control again.

Hmmmm! well for about £380 I can fit CC to my T120. Easily done as it has fly-by-wire throttle. But it'll have to go on the upgrade list:- Progressive fork springs, Hagon shocks, Tech Bike decat X pipe and exhausts and maybe their replacement inlet camshaft.

I use a billet alloy throttle lock that clamps around the throttle and rests on the brake lever . It takes a little while to get used to it but after a while it becomes second nature and a real treat on long journeys.

I had a Pan for 10 yrs and used a Cat O-ring that was in a kit in my van,worked perfectly,and when not required I simply rolled it onto the bar weight,and surprisingly it was never nicked.I suppose it depends on the gap between the bar end and the throttle tube if it works OK or not.

Like the long winded bullsh*t title Ridaz! :haha:
I've had one on my bike(s) for years. I found it gets in the way in the middle of the throttle grip so I located it close to the starter switch to operate with my thumb leaving the rest of the grip to hold when I please.
