Title: Advice on new parts
Post by: Tiggerbits on July 25, 2016, 12:57:35
Hello All,

Picked myself up a very tidy 2010 V-strom 650 GT on Saturday and after a good few hours riding her home I know I need to make some changes.

This is where I'll need some advice from more experienced owners.

Firstly the screen!
Terrible buffeting from 60mph upwards. It currently has the standard screen, it was at the lowest positions for about an hour ride, then I moved it up to the highest, bit better but still not great.

I've seen some screens, MRA, Givi ect and was wondering what is the recommendation?

Secondly the bars.
A little bit too much vibration. I had the same issue with my Bandit, and changed them to some Renthal Streetfighter bars. Great on the bandit but not the position I would like on the Wee.

I've seen suggestions for either the Renthal High Road bars or the Yamaha Raptor (811), has anyone tried these? and if so what's your thoughts?

Thanks in advance

There are lots of thoughts regarding screens in the section marked "screens".
Worth a read

I always used to fit the MRA Vario Screen, these days though, the Givi Airflow is my Screen of choice  :thumb:

Fat Rat,

Any reason you change from the MRA to the Givi?

For me the Airflow performs better and it is more adjustable than the MRA.
