I fitted my sharealike clutch basket today.... first time doing something like this on the strom!
It all seems to have gone smoothly and it's currently holding fluids but I ran out of time to test it, so the commute tomorrow will have to be the maiden flight haha!
The photo guide seems easy to follow and I don't think I forgot anything.

can't wait to your thoughts on the result hoping to get my K2 done in very near future.
-
I'll post up the thoughts on it when I get to work tomorrow morning.... I'm a bit apprehensive but intrigued to see if it's made a difference ????

Top job, well done. :eusa-doh:
-
Thanks, I was a little bit relieved when I had finished it haha
-
If there are no bits left over when you've finished the job it's always a good sign....
-
Nothing except the old basket!
-
That bodes well.. :) from previous threads on this you must be pleased with the result.

Had about 10 miles on it this morning....... the horrible vibration is completely gone!
I have literally ridden like a hooligan and nothing other than some engine vibration that would be expected was present.
Anyone on the fence or contemplating the modification just do it!
Just need to re check the fluids and rack up many more happy miles on it now ????

How long did it take to do and how experienced are you at this kind of thing? I have never worked on the inside of the case and am a bit apprehensive about doing it, but the vibration is driving me mad to the point of changing bikes, my commute is generally twenty to thirty mph for 45 mins and hate revving the bike past 4k, Prefer to bumble along at 3-4k but that's where the vibes are at.

Cheers op going to get it done after the weekend , keep us up to date after you have a few more miles ..

I'm not very experienced really, but I am quite practical so it's a head start I guess, including draining and re filling the fluids I reckon it was about 3 hours,
No rush and plenty of referral to the photo guide on John's website.
It's only the second time I've removed a cover from a motorbike engine casing but I'm no stranger to cars and basic mechanical repairs.

Will do, it's worth the effort and time for sure!

OK.... almost a month later it's still great!
Did 200 miles yesterday, a mixture of town, fast country lanes and triple digits (on my mates private motorway officer) cruising and there is no horrible chudder,
Still worth every penny for sure!
