Hi all.
Any opinions on chains and sprockets for a DL1000 K8? It's done 15k, 3k mine over six months largely commuting.
Myself and the good lady plan some away weekenders over the next few months so I want something good. A quick look on sportsbikeshop offers Renthal or Sigma kits, Sigma in o or X ring.
Any ideas blokes?
Oh, I'm probably going to be doing about 5k-8k a year.
Cheers

Hi,
You can get some good kits out there but if you are using your bike for commuting I would stay well clear of renthal.
On my Vee I personally have JT sprockets with a top of the range RK chain , it's done around 12k and still going strong .
If your budget allows you can get an OEM kit for which could be expensive but worth it in the long run, other than that DID is the top aftermarket seller who do a range of great chain kits.

Thanks mate.
My commute is about 18 miles each way. I'd been think a DID chain but saw these others on sportsbikeshop. Is there a particular problem with the Renthal?
I'd been looking at a kit only for ease. I was going to take it to a well known Huddersfield bike shop but they couldn't be arsed to call me back, twice! Still, saved myself a couple of hundred and will do it myself.
If I get a DID chain, any suggestion for sprockets?
Thanks again.

Basically renthal are mainly for racing / off road use , there chains are OK but the sprockets are made to be as light as possible that wear out real quick .
All DID chains are x-ring and can come in silver, half gold and full gold which is top of the range .
For sprocket kits you can't go wrong with JT who are probably the biggest aftermarket suppler around .

Having done 20,000 and still going strong I would go for an OEM again

Thanks blokes, feedback much appreciated.

+1 for DID Chain and JT Sprockets.
Loads of members on here have fitted them.

Just a thought.
Have seen someone, I think A&P, advertising a DID chain and sprockets with noise reduction.
They were on E Bay, the sprockets had a rubber ring round on both front and rear.
Anyone tried them, and do they reduce noise !!!!
