Is it worth putting on a Hugger for my Strom?
I have seen this one does anyone know the best one for my model. :)

Been wondering about a hugggr for mine ( I want to change the chain guard but might go for a hugger as it should keep the crap off in the wet and winter months!) so ill just stick around for some answers :eusa-doh:

I put the Redfox hugger on mine, very easy fit and plenty of clearance for the tyre, seems to be well made but would prefer the actual chain guard portion of it to be another inch longer...

I fitted one on my Veek, it did a great job through the winter. :)
-
That is the cheapest and best looking one I've seen....you've inspired me to buy one.

I put a Givi one on mine - cost less than £70 delivered from an Italian website. It keeps all the crap off the rear shock but not the underside of the bike.
Edit: Damn it - does anyone know why my photos always post upside down??
-
Matt Powerbronze one for me. Looks great, good quality and easy to fit. Pictures on their website but I'll take one of mine on the bike tomorrow if you want a look......
-
Sorry I have no pic in my first post, but mines a givi too :)
-
Did you not have to cut the bottom off the battery box with the Givi hugger to stop it touching?
I generally like Givi stuff and use their luggage but thought the hugger looked like a bit of an addon as it just used the original chain guard and didn't cover as much of the rear wheel as the Reddog one.
-
Mine never needed cutting on the Veek, and I like the standard chain guard, it's made from alloy.
-
Think the glee's different Wurzy, the battery box extends down into the swingarm bend and if my memory is correct it needs to be trimmed to clear the way the Givi glee one bolts onto the swingarm.
The redfox one actually carries on down the wheel leaving plenty of clearance for the box.
That said I could be talking a load of bollox and thinking of something else.... but vaguely remember reading about it when I was researching buying one for myself.
-
No cutting on my Glee and no issues with clearance.
(It might have been the case on early huggers using the one for the Wee, but Givi make a specific one for the Glee now)
-
Thanks for the info everyone, I think the red fox one its going to be. :thumb:

Hi, I went for the Puig hugger (carbon look) and ordered it from Pyramid plastics. Fitting was easy, I removed the rear wheel to gain easy access and had to remove a short piece of plastic from the bottom of the ABS box/shield, but this was not a problem.

I have the Givi hugger on my new Veek and it seems to do just what it says on the tin ...
