Title: 'Dropping' Sat Nav bracket
Post by: kwarr on May 19, 2016, 16:11:13
My LM590 mount ALWAYS vibrates and drops down obscuring the top of the clocks!!

Physically unable to tighten it (the RAM mount thumb screw) any more without moles/pliers which obviously should not be necessary. Anyone else have this annoying little niggle? Am I missing a washer from my set up?
I have one v thin and one thick nylon washer in-between the thumbscrew and the ram 'body'. Ta in advance - Keith

I had. A similar issue. I took the ball bracket of and rubbed it with rough sand paper. It grips fine now.  Just a suggestion anyway.

Cheers,

Gareth

Any contaminant that could act as a lubricant will cause this. Not saying it is but worth a look.

Wrap the ball with duck tape. Problem solved.

On mine there was a grove around the centre of the ball. I put a rubber tap washer in it problem solved.
