Title: Ref: Intermittent Speedo Clock fail?
Post by: Jay2 on March 15, 2015, 18:20:31
Been out on the Wee today and on the way back the speedo needle dropped to 0mph when pushing-on, and would then pick back up again, didn't seem to make much difference at what speed or gear, and only every so often.

Had the clocks off to fit one of Bigpies Gear Indicators, so wondered if something is loose behind the clocks or if I need to look elsewhere?

Any suggestions welcome to save taking the wrong thing apart.  :bawl:

It's more likely an electrical problem with the sensor or a connector in the line between the sensor and instrument panel.

I had a similar issue after having my clocks apart. It turned out that I hadn't plugged the clock multi plug in until it 'clicked' . Worth a double check, especially if all was well prior to fitting the gear indicator.

Cheers for the replies,

Could be coincidence, but will take them back apart and double check before a trip to the shop.  :fix:

Its a bit tight back there, might not have pushed the connector back on properly.

Cheers Everyone,

Had them apart and made sure it 'clicked', so will see tomorrow if works.  :thumb:
