Had fun fitting this and thought I'd restart the love hate opinions
-
I think it looks quite good, and the fit matches in well.. Can you post a :text-link: for it...
-
I think it's horrible and unnecessary.
Sorry !
-
I'm with Martin - do not see the attraction & it ruins an otherwise pretty front end.
-
Well I have to say I quite like it :stirpot: :auto-dirtbike:
-
Don't look too bad on a green Glee but still prefer it without.
-
s*d the beak ....... that green is just the best.
-
Green is appropriate. :-x
-
The only one I've seen advertised is from PowerBronze and not only is it a tad expensive, it also looks cheap and nasty. I do like the green though.
-
Gives it a hint of 'Raptor'.
-
Looks good,
-
The top photo looks a bit like 'Woody Woodpecker'
Not impressed myself..........
-
Love the green, hate the beak.
Maybe a mod can add some voting buttons? :stirpot:
:eusa-doh:
-
What colour is that? Aftermarket spray job?
-
Green...
-

Love it may have to get this made into a sticker for the top box!

It was a black 2012 that I had vinyl wrapped last year
-

This is the genuine part off the 2015 xt it comes in 2 parts that fit as a direct replacement and cost about £60rrp from a Suzuki dealer
-
I have to say that the first picture I had a double take at it, thought at first it was woody woodpecker in black.
Does look like a bird though prefer this to the BMW type beak.
-

No problem, we can arrange the payment of my copyright in used fivers :)
OK, I nicked the picture, but I did have to colour it in :shy:

Perhaps we could start a monthly colouring competition? :lala:
-
Good idea Jeff999 but none of them there fancy felt tips all entries must be in Crayola Crayon. :stirpot:
-
I'll not be fitting one to my Glee!
-
It's the best-looking beak on a strom I've seen so far, helped by the great colour! Voted 'like'.
It also looks amazingly bird-like, almost alive!
Still wouldn't have one myself, unless real practicality could be proved to me! :)

I think it would look better with the front mudguard removed (or at least the bit in front of the forks)
-
It's embarrassing.
It's also like having tits on a Nun, where is the value?
-
Nuns come with tits regardless, even if no-one gets to play with them. Suzuki chose to fit the beak. I'm sure the decision was based on sound market research. They probably asked everyone at the local convent...!
-
I've heard that they have a different horn sound.

A new gleek in the countryside... (http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/15/03/12/86dea5f46a918e5adf2b8d0ee9f0e2d4.jpg)
-
I like it - not enough to spend money on but I think it looks fine
-
Well according to Suzuki's Bulletin the beak will improve the airflow to your radiator so there you go...
Not for me but each to their own.
-
My wee has never had an issue with overheating? Sounds like backpedaling. Why can't they just admit that some styling bod thought it looked good and the boss agreed.
-
"How can we improve airflow to the radiator?"
"How about we put more stuff in front of it?"
"Great idea, go do it!
-
Noose, do you have a part number for this beak, please ?
-
I must admit to being a bit anti at first, but it is growing on me :old:
I think it looks better when the whole bike is viewed
It certainly would not put put me off buying an XT
I don't care what others think when purchasing bikes
It also looks better than the one on the 1000
BTW, that green looks fantastic :occasion-balloons: :occasion-balloons: :occasion-balloons:

My Vannes Suzuki dealer had an XT on show when I had my first service at the end of February. The beak gave no real impression of change for a good reason. However Mrs Rocket immediately said "there's a lot of work to keep the wheels clean". That's another thread perhaps. :groan:
-
Great selfie Jacko :)
-
I never voted but like it, so my vote is positive even if it is late :thumb:
-
Hmm, this time last year the result would have been a landslide for the donts.
Interesting how taste changes
-
Read the thread and there are more don'ts, look at the poll and it's the other way round.
:)
It does look better in that green than any other colours, but I still don't want one.
-
Yeah, I noticed that Martin.
Could be the majority of likes prefer to remain anonymous.....
:stirpot:
Maybe what we need here is a Swingometer?
lol
-
I liked it.
However, I like the Orange wigs the BSB girls wear, but I wouldn't put one on.
-
Didn't know they had wigs on don't get that high [SMILING FACE WITH OPEN MOUTH]
-
Does anyone know the process of attaching this part to a standard (2012+) DL650.
Is it something one can easily manage at home, or is it a bit of a sh1tter.
What exactly is involved?. I ask because I have 10 thumbs and don't want to risk breaking any fairing mounts / clips etc... but would rather do it myself than pay a workshop to do it.
Any advice would be much appreciated.
thanks
-
I've just fitted one to my Glee.
Like most things - its a lot easier when you know how.
First job is to remove the panel that holds the speedo etc. ( from memory its 4 hex bolts & 2 plastic removeable rivets. You don't take out the hex bolts above the speedo.
This gives you access to the 4 screws that hold the bike coloured body panel that surrounds the headlights. Next remove the 2 chrome hex bolts by sides of the headlights. VERY CAREFULLY remove the panel, its held in with 3 pieces of velcro at the front lowermost points and a sping clip in the centre point between the lights.
IF YOU ARE NOT VERY CAREFUL / LUCKY YOU WILL BREAK THE TRIM PANEL. Very brittle.
The original lower cowling is held by 3 phillips screws and two small rivets, accessible from underneath.
Now that its apart, fitting the beak is the easy bit.
Please note the beak comes seperately to the silver internal mount that you need to fit it.

I owned and liked the look of a 2010 'Wee'. I didn't like the new 'Glee' when it appeared as I thought it looked far more effeminate than the older butch 'Wee''.
Now I'm the owner of the 'Glee' and the looks have (sort of) grown on me. I like my '14 reg Glee :lala:
But that new proboscis on the latest Glee is a step too far... The Japanese designers need to lay off the saki, speed, weed and Jack Daniels!
It's a damn good bike and many people can attest to that but it needs that hideous beak like I need another a'hole!
Suzuki bike design seems to be regressing!

I can't find it on the site, or am I just missing it....... Found it in the online shop section. £9 must be an error!
It was. Just checked again it's £79:99 free PnP though.
-
Thank you 650X.
Appreciate your description. I don't think I will manage this without breaking something.
To the workshop it is ! :fix:
