Hi
Loads on this site and the web about the GPR exhausts, everyone thinks there great. Just bought a Tri-oval myself for my 2010 twin spark Wee and was wondering how many of you had fitted a GPR and had to deal with fuel issues afterwards.

If anything it should be an improvement because the exhaust is less restrictive to the standard one. I have a Scorpion and the engine definitely revs up easier with that on than it does with a standard exhaust. I've never really heard of anyone with a 650 having fueling issues after fitting an aftermarket can. If you did I wouldn't blame it on the can either, there'll be some other underlying issue.

Hi you
Thanks for that info.
Should arrive shortly so I will post some pictures after the surgery takes place. :limp:

Any news on the new exhaust buddy?
-
Hi you
Surgery complete. Excellent, couldn't be more pleased.
The bike is running more freely and I do think it is smoother. The sound, well absolutely brilliant. Nice deep thump to the bike and not too much noise. Well pleased. The O2 sensor now fits in the same place as the original so no moving wires. Also has a support for the centre stand as per the original too.

How about a pic from the back, please?
-
Hi you
As requested a photo from the back.
There is little or no heat from the silencer so no problems with the boxes.

Can I ask how much and where from. Cheers.

Hi
Reference the price.
£259 including postage direct from GPR on fleebay. Contained all the manifolds, cilps, nuts, bolts type approval certificates etc etc etc. Delivered direct by DHL. Not too bad for a full stainless steel system. Everything fitted perfectly too.

Maybe it's just the angle, but it looks like it sits quite far out? Well at least compared to mine, pic below for comparison:

Hi
Just the angle I took the photo at, its sort of halfway between the bike and the givi frame.
I did move it slightly further out in order to match up with the tool tube on the other side and also to enable me to get in behind it to wash the bike down and keep the shiny stainless clean. I thought the symmetry was better looking with the boxes too.

Hi
I was asked about the difference, if any, to the mpg.
Just completed a 4 day 1000 mile jaunt around the west coast of Ireland. 60 mpg average throughout. That is up hill, down dale, hard riding, motorways, side roads etc etc.. No real difference that I can see, just a bigger smile on my face with the sound.

Hi can anyone advise me Fitting new GPR system to my wee 650 as claimed no cutting req :ty:
-
definately no cutting required, you get all but the downpipes from the engine bolck.Hardest bit I found was taking the old one off, once I'd done that it was gravy.

Hi thinking of getting same exhaust what's fitment like is there any cutting req
:ty:

Hi
No cutting rerquired what so ever. Fitted perfectly using the 2 standard headers. I would agree that getting the original off was the biggest part of it.
100% satisfaction from me.

Only just seen your request robby. Not seen a video but Daniel Davis (danieldavis1982) has an excellent pictorial guide on his website....

If you've found the video or fitted your GPR in the meantime please post some details....this may be my next project.... :thumb:

Make it your next project you won't be dissapointed,I'm tight as a ducks arse and didn't want to pay for something I didn't really need but I wished I'd done it years ago.
Exhaust has a nice burble on tickover which is quite enough not to upset the neighbours but when your riding and wind the throttle on it's smile factor sound :)
The exhaust comes with two baffles so you can choose which sound your looking for personally I like the louder one......just so the wildlife hears me coming on the way to work as I work shifts ! so it's a safety feature :lala:

Is that non-neighbour upseting burble with the loud or the quiet baffle? I'm really keen on getting one, but need to earn Brownie-points with the loved-one by sorting the kitchen first

Both are quite and not intrusive on tick over the difference is on the road,I prefer the louder straight through baffle,it'sa great sound.
-
Just got one for mine very easy to put on and looks great will have to see now what it does to the gal hope it's the same :)
-
Mr B - any chance of a close up photo of the centre-stand support please? I have one of the earlier GPRs and they didn't come with that. I have put something in place but would prefer something that looks "cleaner".
Cheers! Dan

I think I struck gold! I bought almost new tri oval of 2011 wee for £65 from (hated by a lot of people) ebay. That included postage and packaging. And each part was wrapt up in several layers of newspaper as if it was crystal glass ;).
The exhaust was missing clamps, springs and baffle. I ordered the lot the lot from gpr uk website for £40. So all in the almost new system will cost me £105. Not bad ;)

It took me just under 1 hour to take the stock exhaust off and put GPR on. Actually taking the old one off was the most time consuming job :)
The fit of the new one is very neat and tight. Maybe too tight, it is just clearing the swing arm. But then it was when the bike was on the centre stand so the swing arm won't go any further. Right?
Also, it does not fit exactly like the stock one onto the down pipes, however it still went on them fair bit. Is this acceptable?
The last bit that concerns me is the way the centre stand. When it is up it is not as up as it was with the stock exhaust. Do I have enough ground clearance? I don't think that I will be taking he off roar

I saw that exhaust on ebay , you had a bargain ..The way it fit's is normal , mine is the same apart from the stand . Yours seems a bit low .
