help down on power

I drive a k7 vee just drove down the road and bike backfired and cut out got it started its down on power any idead I hope its just a plug

See if you've blown a rubber boot from the airbox off a throttle body intake.

It should look like this. Safety wire has been added to keep it from happening again.

thanks greywolf I'm away from home tonight so ill have to wait till morning to look do I need to take petrol tank off to get to it I'm not mechanically great

There are more possibilities at http://www.vstrom.info/Smf/index.php/topic,4764.0.html  but a backfire followed by poor running is the main sign of a blown off boot.

thanks very much to greywolf you were bang on the rubber boot had come off all fixed and lock wired in place and a very grateful irishman was able to drive home thanks very much
